My love and respect of Nature surely began as a child.  We lived on a modest farm in a small town in central Pennsylvania.  I spent many Sunday afternoons taking  walks through the cow pastures, through the fields, and up over the “Ridge Road“ with my siblings and our Dad.   As we walked along, we’d listen to much of the knowledge and observations that he shared:  what kind of “weeds” are safe to touch or nibble on; the names of different mints that grew wild in the meadow, what ailment they cured, and gather them to make that delightful tea he loved so much.  It was back then that I discovered how beautiful a bouquet of wildflowers can be!

Over the years, I’ve experimented with different types of hand-made items made from “natural“ materials. I‘d take my children on walks through the woods and fields and we’d collect all kinds of interesting things to then make gifts for family and friends.   Thanksgiving Day family gatherings were always an adventure too.  After our big, tasty dinner, we’d gather up all the kids and head outside for a hike in the woods and meadows with bags in hand for a “Nature Walk”!  We’d return with our bags of treasures and gather ‘round the table deciding what we could create from our findings.  This tradition continues today at many of our family gatherings.

My interests evolved over the years and I finally found my niche in gardening with herbs and flowers, still taking those walks in woods and meadows to discover Nature’s surprises, and observing how scents affect us by learning about essential oils.  I found essential oils to be a delightful enhancement to my dried botanicals, and it has taken me to a new level of creativity!

In April 2004, I retired after 30 years of office work.  Little did I know that aside from the joy and freedom of retirement,  I was presented with the opportunity to pursue my dream - a small, home-based business doing what I enjoy the most  -- playing in the dirt and collecting Mother Nature’s gifts.  I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to God, for His amazing gifts of Nature; my family who has been a rock of support and encouragement, and my close friends who have prodded me onward!  An added bonus to my retirement is that  I get to spend a couple days a week with Chloe, our adorable new granddaughter!  There’s no greater joy than watching a child’s world unfold.  And this Granny will be sure to teach Chloe all of Nature’s wonders!

I hope that you enjoy my products -- inspired by Nature -- at least half as much as I enjoy creating them!
